Firework Season

Although it took us an hour to get out of the parking lot afterwards, the Layton fireworks are still off the hook.

Word.

Decorating

Scott and I are once again, in the midst of remodeling. Our front room was technically done 2 years ago, but we decided to add crown molding and a new front door. Once the dust clears, I'd love to finish decorating the front room.

Here are some items on the wish list, along with some other pretty pieces
for other parts of the house.
Our current rug as been puked on by Oliver twice and sheds like crazy.

Floor pillows for more seating

Lucy's room still needs a rocker. The space is tiny so we need something smallish.

Next project. New bathroom.
The current one is 100% disgusting (mold, paint flaking, rotting wood)

I wish I could afford this chair at Anthropologie. I'm on the search for a knock-off.

I'd love a smaller round side table.

Lucy Eating

It may look like she is mad in this photo, but she is actually jabbering.

Lucy is okay with Daddy feeding her fruits and veggies. Not so much mommy.

She's no fool and knows where the good stuff is.

Kyle

7.7.10

Kyle left on his mission to Guatemala today. and oh my goodness, it is so weird. I can't believe my baby brother is gone and I'm sure going to miss him.

I was 12 when Kyle was born, so he has been my baby brother for a long time, but now he is all grown up and that is great, but kind of sad too. I'm so proud of him.

In honor of Kyle, here are a few of my favorite things about him,

-He is way laid back
-He always gives me hugs
-He always makes sure to say goodbye before I leave
-He is a pretty funny guy
-He is super smart
-He likes to play games
-He likes his sisters (and his brother)
-He is way excited about his mission
-He is the only blonde/blue eyed kid in the family...how did that happen?
-I think we look a lot a like (except for the blonde/blue eyed thing)
-He always helps and pitches in
-He is a hard worker
-He is kind
-We have fun together
-He puts up with Scott (and trust me, that is saying a lot when you are Scott's BIL)
-He is good brother
-He will be a GREAT missionary

We love you Kyle!

Dear Lucy

How can it be that you are already 8 months? I want to bottle right now forever and revisit this silly, smiley time whenever I want. Right now you are so fun and keep us laughing all day long. You love,

bike rides
and hikes in your backpack
Oliver
babies and kids
grabbing things
rolling over
outside
sucking on people's faces, arms, legs, elbows
Seriously, you will try to nurse everyone, everywhere
funny sounds
daddy
songs
baths
grass
paper
blowing loud sounds through your nose
and babbling all day long

Right now you aren't so sure of,

men (even grandpa!)
bedtime
puffs
vegetables
loud sounds

You are so close to crawling and that is exciting and sad all at the same time. You aren't a little baby anymore, but my cute, chubby, big baby. Everywhere we go people love you and it makes me so proud to be your momma.

I love you sweet girl. Slow down on the growing up though, please.

Love,

Mom
