Spookalicious

Here are some images from our McDermott Halloween party. The party was fabulous. We ate rotten flesh (lasagna), road kill (cinnamon bread) and decomposed salad. The costumes, games, and food were all great. Thanks to everyone, but especially mom and dad-I know it was tons and tons of work. The decorations were amazing as well. I'll post some detail shots next time. I especially loved the pumpkin graveyard and the laboratory brain, toes, etc. table decorations.

Scott's Worst Nightmare

Scott is both terrified and fascinated by sharks. He doesn't want to get in the ocean but loves watching shark week. We both loved the shark tunnel at Sea World.

The Sweet Life

I have only been to the beach about 4 times in my whole life. It is pretty pathetic. I love being there. I find it very peaceful-I also have only been to the beach during the off season. These are some more images from our trip to San Diego last spring. The beaches are La Jolla and Coronado. It was great. Looking back at them it seems I liked to take pictures of people looking at things. The 3 ladies are looking at a school (a swarm, a pride, a pack?) of dolphins. Scott thought the dolphins were sharks and was fascinated. I'm pretty sure they were dolphins but sharks sound much cooler. The other group is looking at a colony (I googled the correct term this time) of seals. There were lots of babies. Looking at these pictures make me want to travel more. Both Taryn and Kelli live by the beach so this probably seems tame to them.

Mud

So I came home from work and found Scott hard at work and covered in mud. I had to take a picture. Right now we are working on the kitchen and as you can see it can be a messy job. I'm so grateful for all of the hard work that Scott does. Our house is becoming more and more beautiful everyday. This weekend we are starting to paint-the most exciting part of the whole remodel process. It is all of the little steps leading up to painting that are so stressful for me. In the kitchen we have now put in recessed lighting, new window moldings, textured the ceiling and patched numerous places. It is looking so, so fabulous. We are starting to feel like we have a handle on this remodel thing.

Lagoon

Last weekend we went to Lagoon for Colby's birthday. I brought my abandoned Canon elf. I haven't used it in 2 years and it was time to get reacquainted. Lagoon was really busy and so I had lots and lots of downtime waiting in line. Everyone was thrilled to be my models while I figured my camera out. For some reason the images turned out super pixelated. I'm not sure if it is because my camera is older, unused or if I 'm just used to something nicer. I still had fun though-not so sure for everyone else.
